Live The Adventure

 A friend of ours in Ignace is very interested in all kinds of local vegetation and loves looking around the area for different natural flowers.  He recently told us about some amazing Showy Ladies Slippers that were still blooming nearby.  So we followed his directions to the exact location and were surprised at how big these were.   Such a uniquely gorgeous creation of God.  

  In late June, we had a visit from one of our dearest friends, Sandi Duncan.  We met her at the church we attend in Dryden, ON some years ago and became fast friends.  She has visited our resort on many occasions and really enjoys fishing together.  She moved to Manitoba a year ago from Dryden, so we don't get to see her as often as we used to.   This last visit, she caught the most and the biggest fish of all of us.  She was thrilled when she pulled in this Walleye.  What a beauty!.... the fish too.  :)

  Recently, one of our guests, Josh McDonald decided he would try fishing from shore on the other side of the bridge next to our resort and see if there were any fishing lurking there.  On his second cast, he caught this huge, 42 inch Northern Pike.  He was so excited as he reeled it in.  It was the biggest fish he'd ever caught and on top of that, it was his birthday.  I asked him what bait he was using and he showed it to me.  It was a plastic purple and gold colored fluke about 4 inches long.  He took it home to get it mounted.  Congratulations Josh!!
