Live The Adventure

  It was Ben Knepper's first time to Canada and this 12 year old became a fishing legend.  He caught this 29 inch Walleye and he also caught the biggest Northern Pike.  Such fun memories he has made.  I think he will be back next year for some more fishing excitement.                        Look at this 21 inch whopper of a Smallmouth bass caught by Josh McDonald.                            Here's another beauty of a fish , a 28 1/2 inch Walleye caught by Josh McDonald.    Roland Roth caught this monster Trout on Indian Lake.  I didn't get the exact weight, but you can see it's a heavy dude.  

    We have some exciting news!!  Most of you know our daughter Joanna who has lived with us here at the resort since we bought it, helping us to run it.  We have so appreciated the years she has been able to be with us and I know everyone enjoys talking to her and even seeing her sled dogs.  Two years ago we made the decision to sell the dogs as John was the one who worked hard assisting her in feeding them, training them, clearing and maintaining trails and being her handler at the races.  It was time for him to retire though he has missed interacting with them just like Joanna.   But there has been another interest in Joanna's life for the past three years and his name is Sven.  She met him in 2022 when she took a job at the Grand Marais Marathon gas station/convenience store.  Sven had been working there previously and when Joanna joined the staff, he immediately sought to get to know her.  It wasn't long before Joanna was drawn...
