Fall Fishing

  Here we have Kristin Armstrong with a 29.5 inch Walleye; the biggest one she has ever caught.  Walleye are beautiful fish and folks have been catching some big ones on Indian Lake.  Just yesterday morning, September 17th, 2023, three men in one boat caught roughly 70 walleyes.  They have fished Indian Lake many years so know where to go to find the fish this time of year.  But it still amazes me how many folks catch and the big sizes in this lake.  The fish population has definitely benefited from 3 years with few if any sportsmen in the area because of covid.  Fishing in the fall also has the benefit of no bugs and pretty nice weather.  Kristin caught this fish on a bit of a cold, blustery day and you see she is dressed for cold weather.  But we are still getting a few weeks now of temps with highs in the 70's and lows in the 40's.  More folks should consider fall fishing.  You just need to know that the fish are a little deeper ...

Family Reunions are Amazing

  Recently, we had the pleasure of all three of our children and all five of our grandchildren staying with us here at camp.  Our son Jonathan is about to retire from the Air Force and now lives in Oklahoma so he had quite a long drive to get here.  They stopped in Knife River first for a few days to spend some time with his wife, Reseth's parents, then came up here for a week.   Even though the weather was a bit on the cooler side with some rain in the mix, we still managed to have plenty of outdoor time to play together. That  was a good thing because there are five active grand children who were eagerly looking forward to participating in a lot of fun activities up here.
