A Visit From Friends
Glenn and Renee Larsen came up from Grand Marais, MN for their first visit to our resort. We live in Grand Marais during the winter months and have so enjoyed getting to know them. Glenn is a great outdoorsman and fisherman, so he was able to quickly find some good fishing spots on Indian Lake where they caught Walleye, Pike and Smallmouth Bass. Renee sometimes accompanies her husband when he goes fishing in their big boat on Lake Superior, but after this trip she said it made her into a real fisherwoman. She loved the thrill of reeling in the swooping, diving, dancing, jumping Smallmouth Bass. They put up such a good fight with their muscular bodies. Glenn couldn't believe how big and thick our Bass are. They landed some 18 and 19 inchers. One day I took them up to Arethusa Lake which is about 11 miles north of our resort. It was extremely windy, so very difficult to maneuver the boat. However, we did find a small island to fish behind where there was little wind and
