Better Late Than Never

We arrived at our camp in Canada June 21. It was so good to be back. John spent about four days mowing the lawn which was almost 3 feet tall. I worked three days in the garden to rid it of weeds and plant some bean and lettuce seeds left over from last year. With a bit of weed whacking and landscaping, the place is starting to look shipshape. Now we just need our guests.
We finished our two week quarantine on Monday and gleefully headed to Dryden for some much needed supplies. What a fun day that was!! We ran into some good friends and had a very nice visit in town. We were in desperate need for some social interaction. No one seems to be wearing masks up here and it’s so refreshing to shop without them.
The last two weeks here we have experienced unusually hot temps in the 90's- too hot to do much outside. Joanna and I have motored out to the lake on the pontoon boat almost everyday to swim. It's turning out to be more of a vacation for us. We've done more fishing, but we're mostly catching pike because we have no live bait. Still the two fresh fish meals have been delicious.
Here are some before and after pictures of the camp so our guests can visit us vicariously. We keep hoping the border will open by August.
