First Timer


Glen Klingberg and his brother Greg are new to our Agimac River Outfitters guest family and it was such fun getting to know them.  They are very experienced fishermen and even though this was their first time on Indian Lake and all the surrounding lakes, they had no trouble finding all the fish they could possibly want of every variety.  In Glen's own words....  "This was the best resort and fishing trip in his 30 plus years of coming to Canada."

Let The Good Times Roll

 It is always exciting and refreshing to get back up to Agimac River Outfitters for the new season to see our guests and do some fun fishing.  As it has been in the states in May and June, it has been lots cooler here this year than last year.   When we first arrived May 8, we noticed that the water level was still about two feet low judging from the water marks on the big rocks in the rapids by our resort.  Everything was dry and needing moisture.  Then the rains began to come and it has not stopped.  We've had a few warm days that hit the low 70's, but then it nose dives at night into the high 30's and low 40's which is quite cool for this time of year.  Totally different from last year. However, folks were still very happy with the fishing on lakes surrounding us as they are generally smaller and shallower than Indian.  I went out fishing on Indian twice with Joanna the middle of May and couldn't even catch a Walleye.  Of course other...

Family Reunions are Amazing

  Recently, we had the pleasure of all three of our children and all five of our grandchildren staying with us here at camp.  Our son Jonathan is about to retire from the Air Force and now lives in Oklahoma so he had quite a long drive to get here.  They stopped in Knife River first for a few days to spend some time with his wife, Reseth's parents, then came up here for a week.   Even though the weather was a bit on the cooler side with some rain in the mix, we still managed to have plenty of outdoor time to play together. That  was a good thing because there are five active grand children who were eagerly looking forward to participating in a lot of fun activities up here. Sweet Times

Karen Thomas, our cousin from Minneapolis came up for a visit at camp.  She is always such fun and game for anything.  The weather was exceptionally warm, even getting into the 80's for the few days she was there, so we got to do outdoor activities like pontoon boat rides, kayaking, hiking and fishing.   The highlight of her visit, however, was when Joanna, Karen and I went to Dryden to church together on Sunday morning.  We got up at 5:30 am to be able to leave the house at 6:30 am.  It is a two hour drive to get to Dryden and we had to get there an hour and a half before the service started to practice with the worship team.  Once I knew Karen was going to come visit us, I asked the worship leader Steve if he would allow Karen to play her violin in the service.  I play the cello on the praise team and I thought it would be great to add her violin to the mix.  Steve thought so too and was excited to plan music for that week.
