Fun-filled Family Fellowship

For twenty fun-filled days we enjoyed a visit from our son, Jonathan who lives in Oklahoma City, OK along with his three amazing children... Aaron, Titus and Evemarie.  They have visited us here before many times, but never for such an extended time.

Every day seemed to be filled with exciting activities or adventures.  Thankfully we had warm weather for them to be able to be in the water too.  Titus loves to fish, so he took every opportunity to throw a line in the water even from the docks on the waterfront.  We went out on our pontoon boat out in the middle of upper Indian on several occasions to just dive or jump off the boat and swim around.

Jonathan found a place on what we call the Rock of Gibralter (because it is a steep rock face with various heights and deep water just below)  for the kids to take a running leap into the air before hitting the water below.  We have a 30 hp Mercury that we only use when Jonathan and his kids come up to stay.  It is used primarily for tubing, but this year he added skiing to the activities.  None of his kids had done water skiing before, so it was a little scary for them.  Aaron is 13 and Titus 11.  Both of them were able to get up and stay up and even got brave enough to ski from side to side and try to make some spraying water.

Then our daughter Cherish and her children, Judah (6) and Kaylee (3) also came up to stay with us about ten days into Jonathan's visit for ten days.  Now we really had constant noise, fun and activity.  I wish I could harness some of the energy that kids have.  The cousins played lots of games inside and outside together.  I organized a kickball game in the campground area where all of us played, even Grampa John.  Judah had several firsts while staying here.  He jumped in the water over his head and went underwater.  We took the kids to the nice beach on the north end of Indian Lake where both Evemarie and Judah practiced swimming without a life jacket and floating on their backs.  Judah and Evemarie even took the jump off the cliff with about a 20 foot drop.  Pretty good for a 6 and 7 year old.

And the blueberry picking was fabulous!!!  They were extra big and sweet this year because of all the rain we had.  So we packed up all the kids, handed pails out to everyone and hit the blueberry patch.

Such a memorable time it was.  No one wanted to go home and several of them said they would like to stay all summer.  Wouldn't that be a hoot?
